Watch svcd from a bin file?

Is there a media player, like Linux mplayer, that makes it possible for me to watch s/vcd direct from a bin file?

Download and install powerdvd, and select where the .dat file is to watch it.
Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

Also search on the whole Digital-Digest website:

PowerDVD cant read inside a .bin file!
Or do you have som trick that makes PowerDVD do so?

I don´t want to mount the .bin file first either...

that is how you get the .dat file. it really isn't that hard to use a tool like winiso, or isobuster to get the contents to your hard drive.

.dat is for vcd and .mpg is svcd...

I know that but Id really love a media player like MPlayer for Linux, where you just select the bin file and it will play the movie from that.
I have like 15 different ways of extract a .dat or .mpg from a bin but I want to skip that step!!!

Thanks for trying but I dont think you quite understand what I want...

You don't need to extract the bin file every time. You can load it in Daemon tools and it will create a virtual cd/dvd

Secondly, MPLAYER is also available for windows (in beta).

If I understand you correctly, you simply drag (or specify the part th in MPLAYER) a *.bin file from your hd into MPLAYER?

I believe that if you don't want to extract it, don't want to mount it, then unless I am mistaken, it is impossible to run the contents of an iso, bin, rar, zip, etc of the archive type.

I thought I clearly answered that question. YES MPLAYER for windows is available. Click on the link in my previous post, where you will find a link to download mplayer for windows.

Yes, thanks, but I couldnt find a GUI and I dont like having to type everything in a dos prompt.

I thought that someone might have released X-Box media player or something since it is MS...

YES! You can watch a file DIRECTLY from bin (and yes, without extracting, etc). Get MPlayer by going to Mplayerftp://ftp.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/win32-beta/ then downloading and installing the zip file. Then grab a GUI and shove it in the same folder you installed MPLayer. I used http://home.freeuk.com/tom.nealon/mplayer.zip and now I just push the open button and select the movie bin that I want. Please note, I searched the web to find YOU a solution so of course you should offer to drive to my house for sex. Good luck
