MPEG-1 playback

Hi!
Does *.mpg files need additional codec or somewhat to play movie and if no, then *.mpg files those can't play are damaged?

How do you know that the files are MPEG-1/MPEG-1VideoCD and not MPEG-2/MPEG-2Super VideoCD format?


1) MPEG-1 files do not require installation of any additional codecs for playback on your PC

2) MPEG-2 videos DO require installation of additional codecs for playback on your PC
