    can't play vcd's in wmp

i just reinstalled xp and installed divx, xvid, ffdshow, and some other common codecs, but when i try to watch a vcd in wmp its really choppy and the audio gets out of sync. the only thing i can think that is causing this is a crappy video card i have in my comp? my good card broke so i put in an old radeon untill my new 9800 all in wonder comes, so could that cause bad playback?

Power dvd freezes when I try to load the file, could it be the graphics card though, it's a radeon 7200. also, what codecs should I need to play a vcd? i'm going to reinstall windows and just install codecs that I need instead of codec packs.

the VCD/MPEG-1 codec is automaticly installed with Windows. No codec packs are needed for VCD's
