    SVCD playback on DVD player

    Hi,

Searched the forums but can't find anything similiar to this, seen a few postings but their like problems that manifest themselves on the PC and not a DVD player ...

I occassionally like to burn an SVCD i've downloaded on to CDR and take it downstairs to watch on the telly. The DVD player (Panasonic) recognises the format and starts to play the CDR but it seems as if it's stuttering every frame, audio goes "chop chop chop chop" in time with the video frames. I've had some SVCD's that play perfect and when i come across one of these that stutters i usually throw it away.

I can fast-forward through the movie and can't see any video artifacts, sometimes i can even hear and watch a movie but it's going at x2 heh

Thought i'd put together a post and ask you guys as i don't have a clue about video\audio formats

Any and all help gratefully received !

I would recommend that you go check your DVD out at http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers

They have a nice db of players and what kind of media they can accept. You might want to check also what is the bitrate of the SVCD you downloaded. I got the same result on my pioneer by going over the 2.8MBps limit of the SVCD.
"on the north side of 'wild-cat peak' the 'snow squaws' shake their winter blankets and bring forth a chill which rides the wind with goad and spur, hurling with an icy hand rime, and frost upon a dreamy land musing in the lap of Spring"

        some sound ideas,

I'll check my model on the site, check the bitrate and if it's under that limit i'll try reducing the burning speed

will reply with the results soon,
