Stop Start Playbacks on VCD

I have copied DVD to hard drive using SmartRipper, then coverted them to MPEG using DVDx 1.6 and all that works fine they play on my computer great, but after burning with Nero 5.5.6.4 i get this stop-start motion all the time. This is my first time here and copying DVD's so go easey on me LOL.
