New Nero menus don't play

HI all, New member here. I've been using Nero 5.5 for a long time without any problems whatsoever. I recently updated to Nero 6 and suddenly when I make a VCD with a menu it doesn't display on my DVD player properly. I ruled out the player being the problem by successfully playing VCDs I made previously with Nero 5.5. I tried to make the same VCD 5 times with Nero 6 and ended up with coasters. The actual files play properly but the menu is all jammed up in the top quarter of the screen and the rest of the screen is a pixelated mess of all different colours. I have a Pentium3 running at 800 with 384mb RAM. Has anyone else experienced the same problem and does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not a newbie, but still need the digital masters advice. Thx!

Are you using the latest updated version of Nero? (6.3.0.3)

I think so. I'm at work right now, but will be able to check for sure in about 2 hours. I know it's 6. something. Has there been some bugs worked out of Nero 6 since it's first release?

I see. Thx ormonde. I'll find out for sure what version I have. I see Ahead has 4 updates to download so I guess I'll download them and see what happens. Have you heard of Nero having problems with menus before?
And what program would you recommend for Authoring DVDs with menus?

My personal recommendation would be "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (different from the regular TMPGEnc). You can use it fully functional for 30 days.

OK, I've upgraded to Nero 6.3 but I'm still having the same problem. The menu is not displaying properly. I also verified that it's not a bad bunch of discs or anything either. I'm at a loss!

finally got fed up and uninstalled Nero 6 and reinstalled Nero 5.5 and it worked. There is obviously an issue with ver 6. Hopefully they can get this looked after by the next version. Thx for your help.

Did you upgrade to the "Latest" version? (6.3.0.3)

Yup, I did. I went to the official site and downloaded all 4 of the Nero updates (for 4 different Nero programs). I love the new Nero, just wish it worked like the old one. Do you think it may be a settings issue?
