My VCD sound give a high pitched ringing sound! How can I fix that!?

After I rip my DVD, and convert to MPEG-1, and then burn using NERO, sometimes, there is a high pitched ringing sound during some of the scenes which is very bad to my ears and very annoying. Anyone know how to fix this? I used TMPGEnc to encode and I clicked "Audio effect" when encoding setting the sound percentage to 200%. Although I dont know if thats the problem.

That probably is the cause of the problem. Of course, you could, with very little effort, determine if that is the cause. Simply create one MPEG without the 200% audio adjustment and then, using the same original file, create another MPEG with the 200% audio adjustment - Save both to your hard drive and simply listen to each...
