Playing long, 1cd movies on the DVD

I compressed the whole pirates of the carriean to 1 svcd 700 mb using DVD2SVCD with 2pass VBR, high quality, so it took over 32 h but the quality is fine. The movie is 137:22 min. Is there a limit to the length of a movie when playing them on the DVD player? I can play the movie fine on my PC, but when trying to watch it with the DVD player it starts playing about 63.5 min in the movie, (u know the scene where Jack Sparrow says he used hair from his back for rope).

shouldnt it work on dvd disks? they can hold over 4 gig u probably know, praps somethings wrong somewhere in the encoding or somethin... im not hot on dvd writers as i dont have one...
