philips 722 svcd problem

hey guys

i recently bought a philips 722 dvd player to watch my dvd's and svcd's..

i haven't had any problems playing dvd's but when i play svcd's the screen freezes for about sec sometimes.. it seems to happen at ramdom.. sometimes a svcd will play fine for 30 minutes and than all of sudden freezes like 4 times in 3 minutes.. when i play the same svcd again it will play those same scenes fine but freeze at other scenes..

when i bought the player the guy from the store made it region free and i've used different types of cd-r media.

anyone familiar with this problem and is there a sollution?

I have the same one (712, this is the same but in black I think or with mp3).

The only problem I have is that when I start a VCD-movie the screen ALWAYS freezes for a second after 5 seconds; Afterwards the movie plays quite well. Sometimes it freezes, but when I say sometimes, I mean two times in 5 movies or something.

Maybe the problem is your burning speed. Try to burn at a lower speed like 2x. It's just a guess, but it could be the reason
