Cannot play recorded video

I am having Pinnacle PCTV TV Tuner card. Everything works fine. But the video that I capture and save to local drive, are playing only one PC where the PCTV card is installed. I cannot play the same on some different computer.
What I understand is this happens as WMP or RealOne cannot find suitable CODEC.
I do not know how to make this file viewed on any PC.
Is there any way to convert this captured video to a format playable anywhere?
