S-VCD does not start, but video file works

I have a selfmade S-VCD disc which works fine on my video player, but does not start on my PC unless I open the directory and click on the video file itself. This is rather annoying. I guess something is wrong with the configuration of my software (ASUSDVD v.5.0.1107), but I cant find out what it is.

Welcome to the Digital Digest Video forum dundich! The reason it starts automatically in your dvd (video) player is that it has "PBC (Play Back Control function)" and your computer doesn't.

Does "ASUSDVD v.5.0.1107" include a Video Manager (It will probably have a different name)? If so, set it to be used for SVCDs...

wow, grandkids...but i digress. I wanted to burn a SVCD but it would take up about 1800mb, about 4CD's, i want to know if there is that much of a difference in quality, the movie im trying to burn is about 774 mb, and is 1 hour and 41 minutes long, a filtered avi file.
