Is there a way to reduce the final mpeg file size ?

Is there anyway to make the file small enough to were it will fit on 1 cd-r ? Can you like lower the bitrate of the audio to 128 so make the final mpeg smaller ? any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

If you intend to make a standard (to play on dvd players) svcd or vcd; certain paramaters are fixed such as resolution, bitrate, etc...

However, in other cases you may achieve a reduction in file size from lower the bitrate and resolution. The smallest standard vcd's I have seen are about 743 mb. You can overburn---it's risky though, and dvd players may not recognize the discs.
