Audio is clicking when playing .MPGs

I have the problem, that when I try to play mpg files, no matter what player I use, I always get strange clicking sounds when the sound level is at a peak. This is ONLY occuring at mpg-playback and ONLY on my computer, for I have also tested files on a friends machine. NE1 have a sollution ??!?

Hope you can help, cause I didn´t a whole lot of music vids, just to hate watching them on my system.

BTW: I attached a screenshot of a sample.mpg file's properties that´s making these strange noises.

Do you have anything nearby your computer that has either a motor or a strong magnetic field?

      Re:

Mhhhh, not really. I've always had the same stuff, standing around my computer AND this 'phenomenon' is only occuring when I play mpgs, not with mp3-files or DivX aso.
But thanks for the hint. I'll anyway try to remove my palm-cradle for example from the desk.

The clicks indicates that you are missing data.
Some data can be corrected by the CD-ROM player itself so you
won't hear any clicks. Some 'old' players just cannot correct well.

The following items maybe the cause of the problem:
        1. Dirty CR-ROM's playerhead (laser)
        - Clean the laserhead (Not with a kitchen cloth!).
        2. The speed used to record this CD-R is too high.
        - Try to make one again with a slower speed.
n.b. Sometimes the copied VCDs will not play if the speed for copy is too high for that particular CD-R. For VCDs I use 4speed or lower.
        3. The quality of the CD-R is not good.
        - try other one.
        4. CD player is too old.
        - Some CD-R i have cannot be read in a old CD-ROM player.

I have the same problem! But only In Windows 2000 PRO.
i also have Win98 in the same computer, but no problems
          with clicking sounds in w98,
I have installed Nimo Codec pack v4.32 and Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder
(only in w2000) so it might be one of
those codecs that screws with the sound???

Thanks for that hint. I´m also using Win2k Pro and also installed NIMO. So I guess that must really be it. I'll probablly try not use that Elecard MPEG 2 Codec the next time I install it.
