Just a blank screen...

Hello there,

I am very new to all this VCD, SVCD, DIVX stuff so go easy

I have a file i downloadad and when i play it in Windows Media Player (latest verison) i get a blanks screen with no sound

No in the file name for the file i downloaded it says VCD !

So i open up Nero and made a VCD, just clicked a few buttons had no idea what i was doing and it started to encode the file then it burnt it When i played it there was no picture and no sound !

The file is 48.36mins long (says that in Windows Media Player) and is 141MB's

What is the file extension? AVI or mpg? If it is avi, load the file into virtualdub, select file then properties and post what it says here. You may not have the right codec to play the file. If it is mpg you need to open the file with a dvd player such as windvd or powerdvd.

I have download that virtualdub program and this is what i found,

I opened the file and then went to File - File Information

In the box that came up it said AVI information so i think it is a AVI file

What should i do now ? i downloaded Divx 5.0.2 codec

Please help me

Thats what i am thinking too

Been talking to other people and thats what they think
