No audio svcd playback on dvd player

When I burn a VCD and play it back on my old/cheap dvd player it works just fine......

When I burn an svcd I get video, but no audio from the DVD player. When I play the svcd on my computer I do get audio.

I am using the latest Nero to encode the files on the fly.

Any thoughts woud lbe appreciated,

Only the most obvious one - your standalone can't handle the audio format of the SVCD...

'Tis a long shot, but here goes, it could be your cd-r media (dvd players are really picky), you may want to downsample the audio? Of course, check your dvd player documentation, to see if supports svcd's.

Also, maybe try TMPGenc instead.

First thing I checked.....I am beginning to work with the other tools, but man nero is easy......

Suggestions on downsample? what bit rate? etc.

Downsample to 44100 hertz I believe, search this forum for more precise answers.
