svcd or vcd burned onto dvd-r?

does anybody know if this will work and if so how? I would love to get 3 or 4 full movies onto one disk and still have it play on dvd set top...

There is no way you are going to be able to do that. First reason is that a standard CD-R is only 80 Min long and holds only 700mb of data. Most movies are double that size. Second reason is that most DVD players will only recongize 1 VOB file at a time. Last but not least, is that if you have every burned a movie before and played it on a standalone DVD Player, you do not have the options to fast forward or move it to the next frame. I hope this little knowledge I have learned helps

    Take Care and good luck

      hmmm interesting

but i thought you could use menus in svcd's, so couldn't I make a menu and buttons for each movie? that way the dvd player would only look at only that one movie? And you can fit up to 800mb onto cd-r when burning a vcd because it uses mode2
