I downloaded a movie with a 4:3 (1.33:1) aspect ratio, but that ratio is not right. I used a different player to resize the movie to the ratio i see as optimal, and it was something like 1.56:1, which i dont know if its a standard ratio or not (bear in mind that i have never done any dv production or encoding). I tried to find a way on how i can resize the movie, but i was unsuccessful. Another thread http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...&threadid=9986 has a similar subject, but apparently the original writer has the dvd to rip from. I dont.
Should i decode the movie, then use that GK program to reencode it with the proper aspect ratio? (and what would be a standard ratio if 1.56:1 is not). Also, i quickly looked through the GK prog, and i dont know where it would open either an .avi or .mpg file. And if i decode the avi movie, what file extention will it make, and does it keep the audio track with the video track, or makes a separate file?
Every advice/suggestion is helpful.
