    2pass encoding

Hi, my problem is that my video,
    encoded with 2pass, 2nd,
hangs, when I try to scroll with any player I know. Audio is running fine with Lame MP3 codec. but the image freezes at the frame, where i begin to scroll forward or back. Audio runs at every timescale.
    plz help!

Did you encode with '2-pass first pass' before using '2-pass second pass ?. You must use both if want to use 2-pass encoding.

        Okay, next question
I need not to encode with 1-pass if I want a 2-pass file right?
When I ecode with 2-pass 1st, then Vdub shows me a videorate at 1-2 kb. Is this Correct?
And when 2-pass first got ready, I take my captured file and I overwrite the new file with 2-pass second encoding?
You save me 8 hours with a fast answere
        thx a lot )

Yes this is perfectly alright, the first pass does not produce any video output, and because of this virtualdub will produce an invalid avi file, that is not used for anything. The only thing the first pass does, is create a log file that will be used by the second pass.

Yes, the avi file created by the first pass, is never used for anything.
