how to convert from divx5 to divx3?

hi

i need to convert a divx5 avi file with mp3 vbr audio track to a divx3 avi...

how can i do it?

is there a fast way without loosing too quality?

i tried virtualdub with fast recompress but the quality was awful... and it skewed the audio track cause it's a vbr mp3

Use NanDub - and from the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Compression", select the v.3.11 codec (either Slow or Fast) and configure it for the bitrate, quality, and frequency of keyframes.

Set the "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying".

well...

i tried but i used virtualdub with the mp3 plugin...

i've set video - compression divx 3.11 low motion and audio - direct stream copy

i also applyed the resize filter (precise bilinear) and cropped the video

the result was good enough and fast enough...
