    DVDx 2.0 encoding

Hi, I'm trying to convert a 38min DVD production into an SVCD format (MPEG 2, mpg) using DVDx 2.0. I've already ripped the DVD using DVD Decryptor.

When I load the IFO, I select PAL settings, and set it off to encode. The problem is that DVDx stops and writes the file at 18mins, about 150 megs.

The quality is great - I can't remember which codec I used (I think Indeo...?).

    Any ideas?

Hi, When you open DVDX, the default option is to do partial encoding. In order to encode the full VOB, you just need to click "Whole" button.

I don't have DVDX installed on this machine so I can't tell you exactly where this is. It is either in Input or Output Settings - Look at the number of frames and near it you'll find this button. Upon clicking the "Whole" button, you'll see the number of frames change.

      I hope this helps.

Hi DTB - thanks, it worked great! Only problem is that I have this mammoth MPEG file now, which isn't good if it doesn't fit on a 700mb CD. Ah well - I suppose I'll just have to find me an encoder which will do MPEG2 SVCDs!
