Convert (S)VCD to DivX?

Hi,

I just got LOTR TT on bin/cue (4 CD's), and converted it to *.mpg using VCD Gear, instead of burning it out first, and it worked like a charm!
Now I want to convert it to DivX, how do I do it? When trying to load the file in VirtualDub I get an error msg that says "MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error"...do I need another filter/codec? I've got GKnot & Nimo 5b7 installed...

Use MPEG Mediator, Flask, or similar...

Using MPEG Mediator:
when i go to "Start > Convert All Frames" I just get error msgs: "Invalid log file" & "VideoSequenceCompressor:: start - unable to start video compression", and then nothing happens...

Ok, thanks for the tips, but nevermind anyways.
I found an excelent guide on how to use GKnot to convert SVCD to DivX on the doom9 pages.
