    Vollume in VirtualDub ..

I have Divx 3.11 MP3 vbr movie and I want to increase the vollume, In virtual Dub there is an option to do so under Audio menu...
The probe is that I must to do it under FULL PROCESSING MODE and that's mean that I must to ReEncode the Sound - Of Cource I don't want to change the source sound.....

So what can I do to increase the vollume without changing the MP3 VBR source encoded sound ?

    1) Since the audiostream is VBR, use NanDub rather than VirtualDub

    2) Although it does require that you re-encode the audiostream, this does NOT mean you'll have to "change the source sound"

    3) After loading your file into NanDub and setting "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy" and "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode", from the 'Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression"

    4) Put a checkmark next to "Show all formats"

    5) Select the SAME .MP3 (MPEG Layer 3) settings (Frequency and sampling rate) as that of the original file

    6) Select "Volume" and set the desired level

    7) Save with a new filename

    Let us know of your success ;>}

No Probe... I can do that, but ....

It still not preserve the original sound, In Nandub there is no option to ReEncode in MP3 VBR- ONLY CBR .

A VBR sound can be in range of 128 to 192 bit for exemple, in CBR the bit stream is constant for all the length of the movie...

        1. Select Uncompressed [PCM], instead of an MP3 codec instead.
        2. Go to File -> Save WAV... and give the new audio file a name
        3. Use an MP3 encoder that is VBR-capable to convert the WAV to VBR MP3
        4. Mux the new MP3 with the original AVI using nandub

          Yess... I know ...

I am using WaveLab and RazorLame for Audio Autoring....
Just thought that may be another fastest way and witeout Encoding and Encoding and muxing .... - to increase Volume - I think it's better to live the sound as he is and increse the sound in tv or reciever or else ...

          Thanks anyway.

Unfortunately, there is no such method yet. I have been in your position before and I understand how bad this feels.
