    XVID Bad Frames, WTF!

I just spent over 8 hours trying to fix a gap in this damn movie. Why the hell cant i get it right?

There is a couple frames that are missing, I've tried Virtual Dub, DivFix, EasySplit.

From what I learned of researching this damn freezing of a frame in Xvid, the only way to rid of it is to cut the movie into two parts from where the frame is. I tried Virtual Dub, but it wouldn't work properly cause the audio ended up being waaay out of sync and I dont have the experience or the knowledge on matching it up exactly. I tried DivxFix but it couldn't identify the problem.

There is a Avi Splitter by Briz, I was looking to see if this would work, it almost could exxcept that I would have to buy the program.

XVID really SUCKS NUTS because if you have one bad frame, your gonna pay with it everytime u watch the damn movie.

Don't blame the XviD codec - it's the "price you pay" sometimes for downloading the efforts of others, rather than creating your own videos...

What you need is VirtualDub-mp3-freeze (vdub-mp3-freeze.exe), as this can read VBR MP3 audio which is very common in XViD (and DiVX) movies out there.

Std Virtual Dub can't read VBR MP3 audio and tries to convert it to CBR when you load it. Also you don't have to split the movie in two, what you have to do is run it through vdub-mp3-freeze and select "check video for freezes"

This will produce a little .txt file "badframes.txt" and if you open it up you will see all the frames that are junk. Now just delete each batch working from the highest numbers to the lowest numbers.
      ALWAYS CHOPPING ON KEYFRAMES.

Just read the guide here: http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=138684 on Badframes, as I can't keep typing this all out. Ndb)
