Hi Guys, i'm newbie to DIVX.. and i try to convert the MPEG to DIVX using VirtualDub
with DIVX 5.0.3 Codec...but i'm suffering from it..so i'm seeking help around.. i
hope some ppl can help me with it.. thanks very much.. Ok let me start from the
beginning.
1) i copy 2 different DAT files from two VCD disc to my hard disk
2) I merge two DAT files to MPEG-1 using TMPGEnc 2.59, the size of the file is
around 1.2Gb (Very Big)
3) I try to compress it to DIVX using VirtualDub 1.4.13 & DIVX Pro 5.0.3 Codec
4) Under Audio, I choose AVI Audio & Full Processing Mode
4a) In Compression I choose MPEG Layer-3 with 128Kbit/s, 44,100Hz, Stero
5) Under Video, I choose Full processing Mode
5a) In Compression I choose DivX Pro 5.0.3 Code
5b) Under Configuration -> Bitrate Control
Variable bitrate mode: Multipass,nth pass
Encoding bitrate: 1120 kbps (Which is same with the source file)
Bitrate modulation: Constant quality
5c) General Parameters:
Untick for Enable Crop
Untick for Enable Resize
Tick for Psychovisual Enhancements (Light)
Untick for Pre PRocessing Source
Max Keyfram interval 250 frames
Performance/quality: Slowest
Source Interlace: Encode as progressive
Untick Basic Vide Deinterlace
5d) Profiles
Untick Choose your profile
Untick Use Quarter Pixel
Untick GMC
Untick Bidiectional Encoding
And i Save the Avi, but then it come up two problems.
1) The estimate file size of the AVI is about 700-800 which is far bigger than what
i expect, i expect the file size is around 400-500
2) The Major problem is the Progress of the compression, the Video Rendering Rate
drop to 0.0 fps after a few minutes. Then the progress is stop. but the harddisk is
still running.. and the VirtualDUB is become No reponse. (I don't know why the hard
disk is keep running).. and everything is going so slow unless i use Ctrl + Alt +
Del to quit the VirtualDUB. I test with different files.. and the outcome is the
same.
So can someone tell me what's wrong with it and how can i fix the problems???
thanks...
