Try to Download BSplayer and install that player, I do have more faith in that player for Xvid files, WMP makes rare things i dont can explain.

For as far as i can see out of your Gspot-readout should there not be any problems (but why WMP 9 makes all these rare things even there is no errors to report, am i not able to explain you).

But try BSplayer that is the best advise i can give you right now.
