    XVID to DVD ?! question...

    This is a real stupid question but i just wanted to know if it was possible and IF so...how it would work...is there ANYWAY i could make these XVID files play on a DVD player?...that was such a stupid question...lol...and also....my XVID's are too big to fit on a regular CD...is there anyway to compress the size or somethin? i mean ANY WAY i could put these the movie file on a burnable CD withouth reducing the quality?....thx a bunch

    you can make a vcd.
    first, since the movie is too big, split it with virtualdub

    1) load the file into virtualdub or nandub

    2) set both audio and video settings to "direct stream copy"

    3) Put the "mark in" (a black arrow pointing left with a line at the bottom of the window)

    4) Put the "mark out" at halfway(or wherever you choose. Probably half)

    5) File-->save avi... And save with a name (it helps if you have part 1, or whatever number part it is)
    wait...

    do that with the other half, make sure you start the mark in at the same frame as where you left off.

    once you have your files, use TMPGEnc to make a vcd compatible .mpg
    burn with nero (DO NOT encode again with nero, as you have already done so)
    play on your dvd player!

      it has a bunch of walkthrough tutorials for s/vcd, dvdr,... etc... It is good.
