    Encoding program

I'm completely new to divx so I'm not sure where to begin.

I have Pinnacle Studio 8 (came with my Radeon 9700 all-in-wonder). Is there anyway I can use this program with Divx 5.x to encode and compress my video files? Or is the only solution to go through 20 steps to encode my videos in divx format? I have some moveis that I've recorded from HBO and Showtime also home video's with a sharp camcorder with a firewire connection to my system.

With the programs I use, I can have the videos in mpeg-2 or uncompressed avi format. How can I go from those to divx in a simple one step process so I'm not spending all my free time babysitting encoding processes?

    Thanks for any help.

The only resolution I can come up with is save it as an uncompressed AVI then compress it with VirtualDub. Into probably a Xvid codec if you want pretty good quality. If you plan on burning to DVD in the near future though I would suggest you save it as MPEG-2 so you don't have to re-encode later
