    Help !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm at my whitsend here !!
I'm trying to find the best possible way to make a vcd !!!!!!

My avi's look amazing, but when i convert to mpeg, then to vcd, and i play the vcd in my dvd player, it's all blocky and looks terrible !!!

I've tried everything, but i still end up getting a blocky result !!!

I use divx to encode the avi's.
    Divx at 2000kbps 29.97 NTSC
I use tmpeg to encode the avi's to mpeg.
    tmpeg 2000kbps 29.97 NTSC
I use vcd easy to make the mpeg's into a vcd.

Is there a template that i should be using that would help me out.

I've read all the tutorials on other webpages, but still i end up with blocks!!!!!

    Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.60 GHz
    1.61 Ghz
    256 Mb of RAM
    Soundblaster Live!
    ATI TV Wonder

    HELP @!

Does the vcd you created play "blocky" on your PC or standalone dvd player?

    The following may help:
    -burn at a lower speed
-use higher quality media (Verbatim, Maxell, Mitsui)

      1) Use TMPGEnc to encode your .AVIs into MPEG1-VideoCD format - NOT "plain vanilla" MPEG1

      2) For compliant VCD, set the Video bitrate to 1,150Kbps and Audio to 224Kbps, 44,100Hz - Perhaps you'd find it simpler to use the TMPGEnc VCD "wizard"/template

      3) Use NERO to only burn as VCD (NOT encode, since you'll have already done that under TMPGEnc

      Let us know of your success ;>}

After many captures, i'm still having problems with the video being "blocky" !
ALmost as if they were showing a movie on a bucket filled with ice cubes. Very noticable !!!!

        VirtualDUB 1.4.9.2 to capture AVI's.
The audio 44.10Khz, 8 bit, stereo
Video compression using DivXPro 5.02 Codec
        Viriable bitrate mode = 1-pass
        Encoding Bitrate = 2000 kbps
        Quick config CLI = -b1 2000 -key 300 -dr 12,2,2000,10,20 -sc 50 -pq 5
        NO FILTERS, nothing else !!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm recording mostly 2 minute clips ! roughly around 35 megs in size !

        Now onto the mpeg !!!
        TMPGEnc Plus 2.5

          B) Video 352x240 4:3 525 line (NTSC), 29.97Fps, Automatic VBR (CQ_VBR)

I tried that also but i still end up with blocks !

could it be the avi that i captured?
            could that be the problem?

the .avi looks amazing when i play it full screen on my computer, no blocks no nothing.

but the .mpg full screen on the computer comes up blocky !
I don't even bother burning the .mpg onto a cd if it's that blocky on the computer.

I see other peoples vhs rips and they make mine look like garbage!

i'm willing to send someone the .avi that i captured, if that may help !
