Is it possible to convert a Divx movie at 29.97 fps to 25 fps without audio desyncronisation. If it is I would like to know with which program and how do I do that.
Not directly, as far as I know. Theoretically (I've not done this), a workaround would be to first convert the file to MPEG1 format and then load it into Flask. Under the Global settings, simply change the framerate to 25fps from 29.97fps. Since this works perfectly with .VOB files (which are, in essence, really MPEG2 files), I believe it should work with the less-compressed MPEG1 files.
Hi there, just a question. Should the file not be converted to MPEG2 (TMPGENC software) then to DIVX? Cause MPEG2 is very hgigh quality, MPEG1 isn't really great.
Since your ultimate desire is to end up once again with a DivX-encoded .AVI file, there is nothing to be gained (actually time lost) converting to MPEG2 instead of, as I suggested, MPEG1 - and then back to DivX. Neither initial conversion will IMPROVE the quality of the video versus the original .AVI - and the conversion to MPEG2 will probably take longer than to MPEG1. But feel free to do either.
Maybe you can use VirtualDUB to decimate the framerate. VD has an option to skip every 6th frame, which will give you a framerate of 24.975. If you want exactly 25 fps you can then use VD to change the framerate to 25 and use an external wav-editor to speed up the audio by 25/24.975. I know that that is nearly the way how to convert movies for tv and cinema.
Actually, the quality does improve the way I do it beleive it or not, it does for some reason and I am happy with it, even though if some people don't agree. Right now, as I am typing, I am encoding a music video which was captured using NO RECOMPRESSION YU12 and it has alot of horizontal lines (not interlace, the signal is the problem) and I am encoding it the second time to MPEG2 and the quality is improving dramatically. If I encode it maybe another 2 times then the quality I think, will be the best quality (possibly BROADCAST) Then I convert it to DIVX 3.11alpha fast motion
I am not trying to be a pain in the **** but this is the way I do it and I get ACE results
