Cutting with VirtualDub (or any of its variants)
1)Load your original (DivX-compressed or otherwise) .AVI into VirtualDub
2) Set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying"
3) Move slider to the starting point of the scene you wish to delete
4) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Go to next keyframe"
5) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Set Selection Start"
6) Move slider to the ending point of the scene you wish to delete
7) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Go to next keyframe"
8) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Set Selection End'
9) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Delete frames"
10) Save with a new filename -
Converting .AVIs with VBR-MP3 Audio
Simply use NanDub (or VirtualDubMod) to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file as follows:
Load your original .AVI into NanDub
Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"
Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" - and choose From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" - and choose "<No compression(PCM)>"
From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save WAV" (Enter a new filename with a ".WAV" extender).Click on "OK"
Then set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
Then save the .AVI as a silent .AVI (set "Audio" to "No audio" after you've saved the WAV file).
Open TMPGEnc and "drag and drop" the silent .AVI onto it, then do the same with the .WAV file.Comment

Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" - and choose From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" - and choose ""
When I get to set audio to "full process mode" then from the audio menu I select compression> I select pcm>OK and than file menu>save wave with new file name. When I follow these steps I get on 737kb of audio. When I select Audio>direct stream>and the rest of the settings I get the whole audio in wave but once I use tmpeg to multplex I get sync at first then slowly out of sync.
What am I doin wrong??plz help.Comment

Sorry, that line should have read,
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" and choose - and choose "No compression(PCM)"
"When I select Audio>direct stream>and the rest of the settings I get the whole audio in wave but once I use tmpeg to multplex I get sync at first then slowly out of sync.
What am I doin wrong??plz help."
What you've done wrong is setting "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copy" - You should be setting "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy", not "Audio"...Last edited by setarip; 27 May 2003, 12:39 PM.Comment
