I have a bunch of files some .mpg some .avi. I want to reduce their sizes so I can fit 2 per CD. What should I do?

      1. Open video file in VD.
      2. Set Video tab to Full Processing Mode.
      3. Set Audio tab to Direct Stream Copy.
      4. Under Video, select Compression and choose the DivX/XviD codec. Choose an appropriate bitrate. Choose 2-pass encoding mode in order to minimise loss of quality.
      5. Go to File -> Save as AVI and give a name to the new file.

Note: For MPEG-1 files, set the Audio tab to Full Processing Mode instead, choose an MP3 encoder and select a bitrate.

Be advised that although VirtualDub ("VD", as abbreviated by "Enchanter") will accept MPEG-1 files as INPUT, it outputs ONLY .AVI files...
