    PAL to NTSC

    Is there any software out there to convert a file from PAL to NTSC. I recently downloaded an avi and want to convert it to NTSC to play on my dvd player. Thank you!

    You'll need virtualdub and a wave editor.
    In virtualdub, save the audio.
    In the wave editor (I use sound forge) you need to
    TIME STRETCH it by 104.27% (thus slowing it down).
    Save the new audio as uncompressed PCM wav

    In virtualdub, open the AVI in question. Instead of the
    AVI audio, set it to WAV and choose the file we just created.

    Set the video/frame rate to 23.976.
    Either Frame serve to TMPGENC or just create a new avi
    using these settings.

    If you create a new AVI it's probably worth recompressing the
    new WAV to a CBR mp3 and using that instead (unless
    you have loads of disk space)
