Divx MP3 encoding?

I had searched high and low on this site but can't find any info on what MP3 codec I should use so that I could translate AVI files for my Archos' video recorder AV320 which needs to have MP3 encoding so I could have sound during playback. Any help will be appreciated.

If you simply need an .MP3 codec, download and install the Radium (hack of Fraunhoefer) .MP3 codec. You can download it from:
