xvid to vcd

Have read all posts but still cannot make it work.
My Xvid file has been tried with Vdub and TMP but neither will recognise it. Have downloaded a host of codecs but still no luck.
Is it possible to convert the xvid to divx. I have no problem converting divx to vcd.

1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDub (or any of its variants) or NanDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

it probably a fake file.
