xvid to divx?

I am having huge problems with XVID, every movie I try with it have serious audio/video sync problems. I have looked everywhere to try and discover what is causing this and so far I've had no luck.

Is there a way to convert and XVID avi to a DIVX avi?

Would this solve the problem?

Has anyone got any suggestion about how to solve the audo/video sync problem?

Why don't you simply use a DivX codec, instead of the XviD codec, for converting your DVDs to .AVI?

Just use virtual dub or the mod version to pass it to divx... usually you wont have that kind of problems...
