i have a video file that is 705MB that i want to fit onto either one or two CDs (either chop in half and put on two CDs or chop off the couple minutes of the video file to reduce size to 700MB). i looked around and found virtualdub, which i just tried using. however, when i try opening a file on virtualdub, i keep getting the message "couldn't locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown) VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."
decompressor for XVID? i do have the xvid codec and i can view xvid-encoded movies perfectly fine on my computer. did i just forget to download a specific file?
i'm totally new at this, so if someone could please help me, that would be great.
thanks!
