Help Me, IMA NooBIE Need Hlp with Converting Software

Hey wazzup @ll! Im New at this dvd backing up process...
My Kidz Scratch the **** out of our DvD'z...

To start off So far i have SmartRipper and FlaskMpeg .594

Ripping the .vob files i think ive got down but the converting is where im struggling...

ide like to convert it to a formatt which i can watch it on my TV without using my PC...

And what is best formatt to use to get it on 1 DvD 4.7

    Or 1 - 800mb CDR (if there is 1)

and whats all this dixV talk... is the formatt compatable with standalone DvD Players??

Ive tried to dl dixv stuff but got no love with it in the past

    Is it a converting software...

N e ways if n e 1 has gone through this when they got started, I would appreciate some direction on what progs are the best and what formatt's to use..

Also in Flask .594 im converting 720x480 @ 29.97 fps
Audio 44100 Hz takes like 15 hours to convert and i get a need to increase mux rate...what should i do??

and what are good settings without going back to *beta* quality *(lol ive forgotten what the tapes were b4 vhs.. beta isnt it?)

Pograms i used and worked well:

DvD Shrink 2.3 - Good for Shrinking .vob file to under 4.7gb

DvD Decrypter 3.1.7.0 - Good for Rippin and Burning

ImgTool Classic .90 - Good for Creating Image of files to be Burned Onto A Blank 4.7gb DvD-R

well it seems quiteness and 4 hours later i have a working backup copy of a 8gb+ movie on a single 4.7 gigabyte DvD-R...

Easiest Way I've found so far is to use "DvD Shrink 2.3" to Rip & Convert the .vob & .iso & .bup files to around 4,488 mbs that fits on a single 4.7gb disk without losing (if any) Quality.

Check to make sure it plays on Win Media Player and/or WinDvd

Then i used "ImgTool Classic .90" to make a image of the DvD to be Burned

Finally used "DvD Decryptor 3.1.7.0" to Burn The Image of the DvD onto a Blank 4.7gb DvD-R

In a nutshell that seemed to work for me.. hope it hlps some 1 lost in the confusion like i was last night

Generally no, divx is only for playing on the PC, and to a limted extend on some consoles and a select few DVD players.

Flask can be a bit picky about audio sampling rates, encodeing methods, and muxing.
Unless you really really like flask you might want to take a look at other conversion methods.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
