I've ripped shows before with GK without any problems, and the reason people are giving you a hard time is because the output of flask is severely behind what you'll get with GK. With GK being so good quality-wise, and hardly any learning curve involved if you use a guide, it just makes sense.
So give it a whirl, they're all free and it doesn't look like you're getting anywhere with flask in the meantime
