Perhaps someone can help me with this?
Here's what I want to do:
SKY+ digibox to WinTV PVR-350 videocard (in PC)
Need to transfer TV programs - edit commercials - then convert to XviD or DivX to get the filesize down without losing too much quality and retaining aspect ratio (4:3 or 16:9).
What is the best program to use?
Is VirtualDub the best?
Is it straight forward? buggy?
Can I choose quality (filesize) settings prior to conversion?
Which is best XviD or DivX?
Almost all of these TV programmes are in Stereo/Pro-Logic Surround or Mono. So, no worries about 5.1
I want to write them a data - not VCD or SVCD
Although, I might consider XSVCD as a secondary option.
Current filesize is: 1hr = 2GB
