    Audio and Video aren't synchronised.

    Hi,

I'm a newbe here, so excuse me if I'm asking dumb questions. Also excuse me for my English: I'm from Holland.

Well, this is my problem. I tried making a Avi and a Mpeg (VCD) version of my movie Shrek. I ripped that DVD with Smartripper. The Avi I made by encoding the Audio and Video saperately with Flask-empeg and Vob2Audio, then dubbing it with VirtualDub. I made the empeg with Flask-empeg alone (not saperately).

The strange this is that the audio and the video isn't synchronised wich makes it not really nice to watch the movie. With both metoths I didn't fit and the both had 0,5 sec difference between Video and Audio.

Is this a known problem? Or is this a problem known with this software or DVD?

I hope you can help me!

Thank you very much in advance.

    Yours,

    Tommy.

I will try to help you with that one.

I had the same problem once with "rush hour".

To solve that, a cool software called "synchronizer" allow you to delay the audio from the video, to get back the correct synch.

It is super easy to use, so just try it and let me know

      get it there : http://www.divx-digest.com/software/synchronizer.html

      Good luck !

Thanx. That's the info I'm looing for

Do you need to have a saperate Adio and Video file, or can you use a Avi file that already has both in one?

Hope you can awnser this one last question.

        Thanx again,

        Tommy.

Check out Nicky's Pages for a fix. It is common and very easy to fix.

Virtual Dub might help. I asked a similar question in another thread. You can read it at

Is it possible to reduce the bitrate of a divx avi file (encoded using divx 4.12 codec). For example, can I reduce the bitrate from 1000kbps to say 500 kbps? How would I do it? CompressAVI is supposed to be able to do this, however I am unaware of how to use it? Any other software such as Virtualdub? Thanks

If it works, its probably the easiest fix.
