    AVI conversion

I have a problem converting AVI file to DVD. Its codec is XviD MPEG-4. It is a movie file. When importing to NEro it shuts the Nero down within 15 seconds. The same happens when I try to convert it in TMPGEnc. Nero says it copyrighted.
I am not too experienced in burning; just know how to crack movies, burn them, etc. I was able to convert other AVI files easily with NERO but this one is way stubborn.

Any ideas to save me some time?

    Thanks a lot.

I hear a lot of recommendations for the Fddshow filter
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

      Open Tmpgenc click on
      Option
      Environmental settings
      VFAPI plug-in
right click on "directshow multimedia file reader"
      raise the priority to "2"
This worked for me, hopefully for you.

Thank you. I was able to convert one file. With the second one I get a message -Can't load "P3Package.dll"(with TMPGEnc).
Tried reinstal - still the same.
        Your help is much appreciated.

Try downloading TMPGEnc from its LEGITIMATE source at:

(The error message you've received is one that frequently appears when you've downloaded a P2P supposedly "cracked" version, that actually contains a virus)
