mpeg doesnt develop implementations of their standards, they only develop the standards, there are no official implementations (except the reference ones, which arent really usable mot of the time tough)

and i am sure m$ would even do some evil stuff to disallow .mp4 files or mpeg-4 on windows

      Even after MPEG4-DVD's succeeds ???

PPL would be angry if they aren't able to play their bought DVD's under Windows...

And think also about the future of their MediaCenter OS !!!

But yes, EvilBill's acting is unpredictable...

Btw, some progress with the bond standard ???

hm ok if the size of a company is what makes a tool more official than others than you maybe would also be happy about the mp4 splitter from apple?

ah they dont offer it for directshow, but only for quicktime
see, dshow is not the only "official" multimedia platform out there

        Even after MPEG4-DVD's succeeds ???
hm i think if hd-dvd will use h.264 only, m$ will still not release dshow filters for such dvds (afaik they also didnt release such filters for normal dvds...)

And think also about the future of their MediaCenter OS !!!
        who cares about such ****

Btw, some progress with the bond standard ??
yeah, now we only need to release an own "hd-bvd" in the bond standard to make all the newbies out there think that its THE upcoming standard (like m$ brainwashes the newbies atm with their hd stuff)

          Nah, you got me wrong...

This was not about the "official" splitter, this was about developing implementations !!!

Coz you said that the MPEG guy dont develop implementations, they only develop their standard...

Yes sure, but not the common stuff that the most ppl use !!!

A directshow one would make it much more acceptable for most users, I think...
