    Shrinking WMV files

    Yo, i recoreded a show tonight that's an hour long in windows media format. the file is 1.1Gb i wanna be able to burn it on a regular 700mb cd. I need to shrink the file size just a few hundred MB. Does VirtualDubmod do wmv files? And if so what conversion type is best for keeping the video quality? i tried converting something earlier and it looked like ****. please help. thanks alot. peace

    I believe VDM only works with AVI and mpeg files, but you could convert the WMV to mpeg using "TMPGEnc" (different from TMPGEnc DVD Author) then go back to VDM and convert the mpeg to a Divx/Xvid AVI file.

      the best would be to not touch wm! capture into a lossless video format and than reencode with mpeg-4 (xvid)
