Downgrading AC3 6 to 2

I encoded a video w/ autogk and the original video was on ac3 6 and i think the autogk, when on auto mode and trying to make a dvd movie into 700megs, made it into mp3. 1st ? is does it encode mp3 into 6 different channels? and if so, is there a way i can merge them into 2? (the movie, i'm realizing now, is mostly just talk and doesn't require a 6 output setup)

I am not a AutoGK user, but anyway...

MP3 supports only mono (1ch) and stereo (2ch) !!!

But with a 5.1 AC3 as source, its possible to make a MP3 with ProLogic info...
