Help: Need to strip the Ogg audio off a movie

Hi guys,

I have a movie that is DivX video/Ogg audio-encoded. I want to get rid of the audio (Ogg) and have the video only. This simple operation however gives me hell of a headache, because:

VirtualDub 1.5.10 does not even open the file ("cannot detect type of file").

VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.1 opens the file up, but displays error message after parsing the ogg media file. Since it does not have an option like "no audio", I try to disable the streams under the stream list, and then save the file under different name. The save operation runs for a few seconds only, after which VirtualDubMod crashes.

NanDub behaves exactly like VirtualDub - can't even open the file.

Is there any demuxer that will enable me to save the video stream only, without the darn Ogg thing?

Please help me out here, will be appreciated a lot.

maybe you can try with Graphedit:
plug the video output from the ogm parser to an avi writer. of course you need the Tobia's oggDS.
if your file is corrupted, it won't work.

Did you go to "File Information" ("File" > "File Information") in VDM? Post what is listed in both the video and audio track sections of the dialog box, or post a screen capture.

BoF, maybe I am mot fully understanding your sugesstion, but it is not an OGM video, it's DivX Video with OGG audio. When I run it through Graphedit, only the OGG splitter shows up, but my humble guess is that it only comcerns the audio stream in the movie. So I delete whatever is connected with the audio, then I runn the graph and hopla - only the video plays. If only I could export it...

Try this:

1. Open the Divx file in VirtualDubMod.

2. Go to "Video" and select "Full Processing Mode"

3. Go to "Streams/Streams List". At the bottom, there is a button called "Disable/Enable". Click "Disable". This will make your audio stream inactive. Click OK.

4. Go back to "Video" and select "Compression". Select a compressed video codec of your choice.

5. Go to "File" and "Save As" (F7) with a new filename.

definitively not! you will get a quality loss.

that is an ogm (you just said it uses OGG splitter)! someone renamed your file from ___.ogm to ___.avi and that's not fair because it has nothing to do with an avi.

here is how you can proceed with graphedit:

open your ogm file, something like that should appear:



just keep the source and Ogg Splitter boxes then insert Avi Mux and File Writer filters (ctrl+F) :



now just play the graph.
