    Xvid Second pass options

Hi, i want to encode using 2nd pass-1pass in xvid. but virtual dub always fails after about 60%.

i followed the guides found on this website and others to the dot, the only thing i am not sure is the pass file. which is set to default video.pass.

say i have an avi called "badboy.avi" and i want to encode that so it gets smaller, what shall i call the video.pass name if i want the final avi to be called BB?

The name of the pass-file's name has nothing to do with the filename of your encode...

    Example:

    1st. pass...

Use C:\Video.pass to write the log-file

Use BB.avi to save the video

    2nd. pass...

Use C:\Video.pass to load the log-file

Use BB for the saved video again (overwrite the 1st file)

    Bye

            Because I chose to leave.
Its because of the mentality of koepi, and of the evolutivity of my profession: technician in enginering climatic.
            Just it.

But I will come back, not for immediately.

Webmaster, I am distressed indeed for the previous commentary.
Thank you to remind myself by this double exclamation.

              Sorry ADMIN

Yeah i could beleive this, he has such an ego problem, and he totally tries to provoke you and humiliate you. He think's he is somebody just because he builds codecs, i mean there are plenty of other people on the net who make different types of codecs, but in his eye's he is someone special.

                  Sorry zx50,

                  I won't say it.
In fact, I think that he is a normal man, that tempts to maintain its codec to the bip level facing the different codecs.
Mediatized and a good level, the codec xvid excels in the compression video thanks to numerous improvements, facing his henceforth retrogressed adversaries.
I make allusion to the Divx codec the 3.11 (SBC) and the 5.2 pro.
Nevertheless, facing the compete codec of koepi seems threatened.
That is not always discerned well by koepi and, that distresses me strongly.
Because, I believe that this codec delivers a big quality in particular in HD 720p (1280*720).

For my part, I prefer the RV10e (hfe2) for the low bitrates therefore on 1 CD.
For 2 CD, the SVCD (method of KWAG Tmpeg) or the mpeg2 (CCE pro 2.70 one pass vbr); and finally for the HD 720p / 1080p the WMV9 (high-level sharp).

To note: the Dirac codec and H- 264 codec out of HD race.

                  It's my own opinion.
                  To soon
