    Mode One Decision or Widesearch??

Just wondering, is widesearch better than mode one decision for all bitrates, or is it better to use mode one decision for bitrates of say 700kbps -1000kbps. I've tried using them both but if anyone knows which is better to use for these bitrates then...

    Good evening zx50,

Opinions are very shared on this topic.

It is necessary to know that the VHQ fashion permits a better research of movement. A value superior to 1 will decrease the speed and won't increase immensely the quality of the picture.

Nevertheless, in what concerns me (according to my Xvids test HD 720p on Xmen 2 and matrix 2).
I noted the fashion more is raised, more the codec will make tests. Therefore better will be optimization, but longer will be the test...
Finally, more the sequence to encode will be animated, more this function will increase compressibility: more the blocks will move, more it will be necessary to stock info on the vectors, in more of case one will have a more efficient spatial compression therefore than a temporal.

    It's my personal opinion.
