    Extracting AC3 from an AVI

Hi, I would like to encode the AVI to SVCD but first I need to extract the AC3 file from the AVI, how do I do this?

Load the .AVI file into VDUB1.4C-AC3, setting "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying" and selecting (under "File") "Save .WAV/.AC3" - and saving as .AC3 (IMPERATIVE to save as .AC3! - .WAV does NOT save properly). Then cut off WAV header (000-02D).

      or..do what I did

open the avi in virtualdub, then go to file, save wav. I know its a wav not the ac3. The file saved is actually the ac3 file, but named wav by virtual dub. hence just rename saved wav to ac3. then whala!

then covert the ac3 to wav by Azin GUI.

open tmpgenc, load original avi in the 'browse video" and wav file into "browse audio", then ur ready to encode to what format u prefer.

        To daniboy

But then you'll no longer have an AC3 audio file...
