    im really confused

i dont know if i am in the right room or not but i have a problem.
i have a AVI. file movie that i am trying to make into a vcd but when i watch it on my dvd player it is real choppy so i tried to use virtualdub and change it into a divx file and then used tmpgenc and i use nero 5 to burn it but it is still choppy can anyone help me please .
p.s. before i tried all 3 of them i just used tmpgenc does anyone know how to get the best quality vcd it looks really good on media player but when i hit full screen it is choppy.

there is no sense in reencoding to divx as it should already be divx (divx may have .divx extension but usually is already .avi extension)

the reason why it is so choppy might be the too low quality of the video, try using higher bitrates when converting to VCD (try first a short part with CD-RW if your external player will accept it)

did u watch the movie on dvd player on your tv? is it choppy too? are u a little bit away from the monitor? it may be (especially most divx) that the videos dont look good when watching just at your screen, try more distance when watching (as it should be with your tv too when u got a vcd at all)

the Tv size shouldnt really make a diference, unless you have a nice new Widescreen HDTV. I don't really know becaues i, unfortunatly, dont have a nice new TV. Im not sure VCDs work well on HDTVs so someone let us know!
