How can I encode widescreen movie to FULL screen

I have the ipaq HX4700 ppc and the movies looks better if it was encoded from a FULL screen movies. However, newer movies are mostly in widescreen format. I want to encode the widescreen movies into full screen to see it on the 4" screen of my PPC. Is there a way to crop off the top and bottom black areas and have it completely fill my 4" screen. The full screen movies looks great on my PPC.

Is the AR of ya screen 4:3 ???

When yes, you have to crop the pic @ the left/right as well...

You can use ZoomPlayer or ffdshow to do this while playback !!!
